These heavy lead heads are ideal for deep water fishing in lakes, rivers, and ocean. They are a good choice when fishing in fast current. Each hook has a barbed hook shank known as a grub keeper. This keeps the worm or soft plastic of any kind in place on your jig hook, preventing it from slipping off as easily when pushed over the grub keeper barb to envelop it. Rod also uses these lead head jig hooks for tying large feathered jigs. They can be used for bottom dwelling fish such as Lake Trout, Bull Trout, Burbot, or even bottom fish like Lingcod and Rockfish. In rivers, you can target all five species of Salmon, Steelhead and Bull Trout using these hooks.
